Baking Instructions

Frozen/Unbaked Pot Pies & Empanadas

For food safety and quality: Keep frozen; do not thaw. Ovens and wattages vary. Adjust cooking times as needed. Product must be cooked thoroughly. Conventional oven preparation is recommended. 

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 - 375 degrees F. 

2. For a glossy finished appearance, brush the top of the pot pie/ empanada with a whisked whole egg.

3. Poke a vent hole in the top of the pot pie/empanada. Bake on cookie sheet for 30 to 45 minutes. Check that pot pie/empanada is cooked thoroughly. Internal temperature needs to reach 165 degrees F as measured by a food thermometer in several spots. Crust should be golden brown.

*Temperatures above 400 degrees and/or baking longer than necessary will cause damage to the product.

Reheating previously baked Pot Pies & Empanadas

For food safety and quality: Keep refrigerated until ready to bake. Ovens and wattages vary. Adjust cooking times as needed. Product must be cooked thoroughly. Conventional oven preparation is recommended. 

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 – 375 degrees F. 

2. Bake on cookie sheet for 15 to 30 minutes. Check that the pot pie/empanada is cooked thoroughly. Internal temperature needs to reach 165 degrees F as measured by a food thermometer in several spots. 

*Temperatures above 400 degrees F and/or baking longer than necessary will cause damage to the product.
